So many things happened...but I'm just going to say a few...some personal tots too but I'm going to keep them to myself..hehe..I got a god daughter liao finally=). It's really a different feeling to witness a baby of your close friend! I'm so glad to have friends who seems as close as sisters. People whom coloured my life...and to let me still think I love my life..even when I am down.. People who I know I can depend on to pull each other up when anyone of us are down. It's great to witness each other lives..and go through the different stages togther. Heard about 2 touching stories from the earthquake in China which I would like to share too...one about, rescuers trying to rescue a women who is buried in the debri, but couldn't get her out, and they have to pass her a saw to cut her own leg, so that they can pull her out...sigh and another, about a mother's love..which the original chinese version is translated in the forum She was already dead when the rescuers found her, crushed by the fallen house. Observed through the debris around her, she was kneeling, bent forward with hands supporting her body, looking as if she was an ancient praying to the gods. Her body was crushed, and the posture looking awkward.
Rescuers reached through the debris to check her status, called into the debris for signs of survivors, knocking tiles for response. Getting none, they moved towards the next building. Suddenly realising something, the rescue team leader ran back to woman’s body, calling for people to follow. He forced his hands under the woman and felt around a few times, before yelling “There’s someone, a child, still alive!”
Through much effort, broken bricks and debris around the woman’s body was delicately removed. Beneath her body, a 3 - 4 months old baby was discovered peacefully sleeping, wrapped in a red blanket carrier, shielded from harm by his mother’s body. His contented face warmed the hearts of the rescuers.
While doing checks on the baby, the accompanying doctor found a mobile phone in the blanket. On it, was a very short message: “My dearest baby, if you survive, you must remember that I love you.”
Even though the doctor was no stranger to deaths, it brought a tear to his eyes, as it did to those who read the message. and this... "I just saw another story. A man was caught under a building when the team found him. The team spent the whole day, trying to remove the heavy concrete above him. The man spoke to the camera that he was determined to live and wants to see his wife. (I think in the middle, he managed to make a phone call to his beloved or smth.)
After hours, the team finally removed the heavy load above him. They asked the man to stay awake as they moved him to have his injuries looked at. But on his way, he passed on. Leaving the team weeping away. They asked why he couldn't stay a bit longer now that he's finally saved..."
Yup..Sigh...Life is so fragile.. |
